Dear 5th District Taxpayers,

At some point in your life, someone close to your heart provided the following piece of advice:

“Be your own person, never follow the crowd.”

Many times since, I’m positive you’ve had reason to grasp that advice.  I would like you to know how truly pleased I am that there are hardworking folks out there just like you who have the vision to not “follow the crowd” but to think for yourself.  Unfortunately, this valuable piece of advice doesn’t seem to apply to the election of public officials and this saddens me.  It’s time to search your soul and for once, SEND A MESSAGE. When it comes to local government, “business as usual” is no longer acceptable.

My name is Jason Gatties and I would like to be the 5th District’s voice on the Berrien County Board of Commissioners.

The Berrien County Board of Commissioners continue to let local taxpayers down. Unemployment, lack of transparency, fiscal irresponsibility & anti-small business ordinances are just a few of the issues which I plan to address.  If elected, I will serve the interest of the people, not the interest of big government.  When was the last time an elected county board member sought out YOUR OPINION when comes to an important issue?

I encourage you to open your mind and avoid “following the crowd” just once and do the right thing for our community.  Join me as we SEND A MESSAGE to the political establishment. Real change begins at the local level. Let’s set an example for the rest of the country.
