Story Name:The Protean Charm
Author Name: terri-testing
Story Pairing: none, gen
Word Count:28, 297
Story Summary:Post-war, Neville and Luna work with their former headmaster to clear Draco Malfoy’s fair name and spring him from Azkaban.
Truth is slippery. Mutable. You have to hold tightly to what is real while everything around it shifts shape … (the author’s summary and epigraph)

Why you think this story should be read:
What amazed me, is that Draco Malfoy is exonerated based entirely on logical interpretation of the evidence given in the canon DH. You will never be able to picture DH story now without those “behind-the-scenes” events. Characterization of Neville and Luna are stellar and I was astonished and shaken to the core by the TRUE portrait of Draco, kindly revealed by terri-testing to me, a dimwit. I mean, how could I not see it all for myself, it was there all along, on the surface, if one bothers to use peripheral vision and lateral thinking, which obviously the Authors is a master of. And yiiieesss! headmaster Snape survived, also entirely logically, although not without a high cost to himself. A million thanks for the story!
I will be sooo exploring the other stories in the livejournal of this brilliant author.

Story Name: Coffehouse Jazz
Author Name: Cayce Morris
Story Pairing: SS/HP
Word Count: 90,385
Story Summary: There was a secret message hidden in that little vial that held Snape’s memories…or was there?
Story Link: sites.google.com/site/caycemor…
Why you think this story should be read: This is a lovely, lovely, warm romantic Snarry, with a clever plot and just the right doze of angst and drama that adds spice. If you love Dreaming Spires-style stories, run to read this one. The author’s skill stands proud next to Aucta Sinistra and DementorDelta

WHY YOU THINK IT SHOULD BE READ:

This story deserves to be read because of the tremendous amount of effort put into its historical and geographical accuracy, and the effort by which it expounds upon characters we already know and love but all while staying true to who they are. There are also a number of new characters, spells and magical artifacts to learn about. Overall, this story really goes out there to answer the question: “who were they before they were the marauders?”

STORY NAME: James Potter and the Bolt of Ages

AUTHOR: L. Wilt

STORY PAIRINGS: This story sticks to canon as much as it can, starring James Potter (the first) and the marauders.

WHY DO YOU THINK THIS STORY SHOULD BE READ?
This was a HUGE effort to write. The detail that went into it to be historically and geographically accurate, and the effort that went into both expounding upon the characters we already know and love (still being true to who they are) while also creating new characters faithful to the HP universe is something that I feel doesn’t come up everyday. It’s a great window into what may have been, and truly answers the question: “who were they before they were the marauders?”

Story Name: Rock On
Author Name: draykonis
Story Pairing: Albus Potter/Scorpius Malfoy
Word Count: 145,687
Story Summary: Harry Potter’s kids are going back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry; their primary goal? To find a lead singer and guitarist for their band. Step forward talent from an unexpected source, who brings along with him a series of unprecedented problems including boggarts, bullies and sheer bloody-mindedness.

Why you think this story should be read: This is the first NextGen story I read, and I really enjoyed it. I’d always been a bit put off about reading NextGen stories, mostly because I thought the writer would make the characters too flat, but this one doesn’t do that. All of the characters, even the secondary ones have vivid personalities, and even the few cameos of Draco and Harry ring true. There’s humor, drama, romance, and pretty much anything else you could ask for. A very good story which I highly recommend.

Story Name: Harry’s Pockets
Author Name: RaeWhit
Story Pairing: Harry Potter/ Draco Malfoy
Word Count: around 30,000 words
Story Summary:Clowns are downright creepy, Harry’s always thought, so when he and Luna hire one to work in their Party Props shop, he prepares for the worst.

Why you think this story should be read:
A strange summary, but a good story. I thought the premise was original, the plot was captivating, and the characters were well-developed. The relationship develops nicely and a couple plot twists make it a fun, surprising, yet angsty read.

Story Name: The Sweetest Revenge

Author Name: Coconut Girl

Story Pairing: Percy Weasley and Pansy Parkinson

Word Count: 91,775

Story Summary: Desperate to fulfill her arranged marriage with an unwilling Draco, Pansy comes up with a clever scheme to snag him, but things do not go according to plan.

Story Link: www.fanfiction.net/s/3454255/1…

Why you think this story should be read: This is one of the best written FF I have come across in a very long time. A strange pairing, but one that keeps you at the edge of your seat the entire way through. The author does a remarkable job creating a voice for two lessor known characters and by the end you will find yourself taken aback by the love and devotion these two have for one another. This is truly a wonderful love story written in such a way that will make you laugh, cry and maybe even fall in love with Percy Weasley in the end.

Story Name:Tied For Last
Author Name:Speechwriter
Story Pairing:Tom R. Jr & Hermione G.
Word Count:287,789
Story Summary:Hermione is killed by Voldemort in DH, assuming the last 50 pages or so never happened. Death is a lot different than she thought it would be; she’s stuck in a sort-of-limbo in the form of Hogwarts. And Tom Riddle, her murderer is there, as his horcrux-preserved, 18-year-old self.
Story Link:http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6031176/1/Tied_for_Last
Why you think this story should be read: It is a very clever, very original take on the afterlife. And it’s the only TR/HG story I’ve read that has ever worked. Likewise, it succesfully carries off a TR redemption, something I thought was pretty much impossible.

Story Name:Draco’s boy
Author Name:empathic siren
Story Pairing:DM/HP

Story Summary:non-magic AU. A mysterious little black-haired boy moves in next door to Draco, and he’s determined to make the boy his friend and find out all of his secrets. Later, when they grow up, Draco’s determined to make Harry much more than a friend.
Story Link:http://www.thehexfiles.net/viewstory.php?sid=3727
Why you think this story should be read:This is one of the best slash fics I have read. It covers several years and followsthe slowly developing relationship between a two small boys one full of imagination and the other already disillusioned about life but still hopeful…until he is left alone again. Warning: there is mention of child abuse.
