This is a crossover with Dr Who (tenth Doctor) a show I don’t know well, but that didn’t stop me by being completely charmed by the picture of a wee Teddy Lupin at Christmastime.

This is a nice piece of smut-fluff between Lavender and Pavarti. I like how it conjures up their canon characters, has the feel of two friends getting together, and it’s deftly written erotica. Sweet New Year’s Eve tale.

Not just for Christmas, this is a well-written adaptation of Dicken’s A Christmas Carol. I’ve seen a lot of those in the fandom in various ships, but I like not only how it evokes the characters but some inventive and creative twists on the old tale. (Fred as a ghost was a hoot)

To my mind Remus, Lily and Severus make unlikely Marauder Era allies, even given this was posted before Deathly Hallows when we knew the full picture, but this is a well-written mystery that kept me engrossed beginning to end with well-drawn characterizations of all three.

This is a series of 25 vignettes, each set in a day of December leading to Christmas and featuring various Next Gen children: James, Lily, Hugo, Rose, Fred, Roxane, etc. Each was charming and conjured up the days of childhood and the Christmas season–and each left me with a smile.

harmony_bites’ Rec:

This is a different take on the Snape/Lupin relationship involving Tonks than you’d usually see–one that goes on basically with Tonks tentative and tacit permission. I do like how she’s treated here–not demonized, shunted aside or killed off. I also like how the two men are treated–this sounds like Snape and Lupin to me. It is posted pre-DH so there are AU elements (like, obviously, the three of them being alive) and there is one out and out canon liberty taken in this post-HBP tale (Slughorn named someone other than Snape as the inventor of Wolfsbane). I enjoyed this though–flow, pacing, characterizations–all in place.
